Operating Instructions for our Chocolate Fountains :

Levelling ;
* For safety, and to ensure a smooth uniform flow of melted chocolate, it is essential that the fountain is absolutely level & situated on a firm sturdy surface.
* Each of the three base legs has an adjustable foot. Adjust these feet up & down until the fountain base is standing level and firm.

Preparing the chocolate ;
* We will supply you with all the chocolate you will need to ensure you have a very chocolaty time! But please follow these instructions to make sure your fountains works properly for you.
First, turn the switch on the front of the fountain to the 'heat' position to allow the base of the chocolate fountain to start heating up.
Melting the chocolate BEFORE you put it in the fountain :
* Unwrap all the chocolate (NOT just 1 bar) and, over a mixing bowl, crack the bars into small pieces (it melts quicker in small pieces).
* Place the bowl of chocolate into a microwave and, depending on the wattage of your microwave, allow to melt for 1 - 3 minutes (tip : try your microwave on a low heat setting and just for 1 minute to gauge how quickly the chocolate melts. The last thing you want to do is burn your chocolate for you start - it's easily done!)

Now for the golden rule. If you miss this step out, it's extremely likely you are going to call us on the day of your party, asking why your chocolate fountain is NOT working properly.. Now that I have your full attention..

ADD APPROX 200ml (perhaps 2 - 3 tablespoons) OF VEGETABLE OIL TO THE MELTED CHOCOLATE.

Yes, you read correct, add vegetable oil and stir well. It may sound weird, but trust us, it's normal procedure, and it will not alter the taste of the chocolate or make anyone feel sick! The vegetable oil, when mixed into the melted chocolate makes it slightly more runny, just enough for the chocolate fountain to pump it round.

* Pour your mixed, melted chocolate into the base of the chocolate fountain (which should have had 3 - 4 minutes to pre-heat) until you reach just below the rim. Be careful NOT to overfill.
* Turn the switch to 'heat/flow'
* The chocolate should now be drawn to the top of the tower by the rotating auger. The chocolate will now begin to flow from the top of the tower and down over the tiers.
* IF THE CHOCOLATE DOES NOT FLOW PROPERLY the highly probable cause is you did not add enough oil to the chocolate and it will still be too thick. Add another teaspoon full to the chocolate, stir as well as you can, and the chocolate should start to thin.
* Do not allow the removable character on top of the auger to come into contact with the chocolate at any time.

TIPS :

DO NOT pour any access or leftover chocolate down the sink. Once it cools it will solidify once again, blocking your drain.

Once heated, the base can become hot. Do not touch hot surfaces.
Close supervision is necessary with the chocolate fountain & children.
Do not clean after use, we will happily do this for you.
Have you asked the children's parents if their children are allergic to chocolate or vegetable oil?
Do not run with scissors.
